7th INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF BENGAL STUDIES

Abstracts are invited for the 7th International Congress of Bengal Studies, to be held on 30-31 March and 1-2 April 2024, to be hosted by the International Mother Language Institute, Ministry of Education, People’s Republic of Bangladesh, and Institute of Modern Languages, University of Dhaka.

The main theme of this conference is The 21st century of Bengal and Bengalis. However, abstracts may be submitted in all areas of Bengal Studies including but not limited to, Aesthetics, Anthropology, Archaeology, Comparative Literature, Culture and Cultural Studies, Development Studies, Economics, Education, Environmental Studies, Fine Arts, Folklore, Gender Studies, Geography, History, Language and Linguistics, Literature and literary Criticism, Media and Communication, Medicine, Museology, Musicology, Philosophy, Political Science, Sociology, other Sciences, and Technology associated with Bengal or Bengali.  

The abstract submission portal will remain open from 15 October 2023 to 15 December 2023 on https://icbs.bangabidya.org/. The abstract, in Bengali or English, (Maximum 500 words), preferably with selected bibliography, is expected to cover information about the primary material of study/survey, the approach/methodology adopted, a brief note on works done by other scholars so far, and how the proposed paper adds to the existing knowledge.  

Notification of acceptance will be communicated within two weeks of submission along with information about registration fees, venue, accommodation, etc.
